The 2024 legislative session is about to begin for Louisiana. The representatives are meeting in Baton Rouge with a new governor, and there is a host of changes in the Workers Compensation system that the public needs to know about. There are many elected representatives who are proposing many changes to the Workers Compensation system, which will give more control to the employer regarding the causation of the accident, the length of the disability, and they will receive more defenses. If this becomes law, people with serious injuries and high wages will be affected the most. Of course, people with minor injuries will do just fine. However, if there are serious injuries, you will be severely limited in what you can recover. Hopefully, these laws will not be passed.
